Restarting In-Person Worship Services

Guiding Scriptures

  • Philippians 2:3-4  Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

  • 1 Corinthians 10:23-24   "Everything is permissible"--but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible"--but not everything is constructive. Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others.

While there are divergent views on many of the current health recommendations, we are asking everyone to adopt a posture of grace toward each other as we gather. Our goal as we return to in-person worship services is: to provide a touchless service where the only touch we experience is the touch of God!  To do this well we are putting forth the following guidelines:

  • If you have been sick or are uncomfortable with these guidelines we encourage you to continue participating online instead of in-person.

  • In order to maintain healthy spatial distancing, the worship center will be limited to approximately 50% occupancy.

  • We are asking people to pre-register for the service they plan to attend each week. This will help us in the following two ways:

    • First it will allow us to know when a service will be full while leaving space for first-time guests (we will not turn anyone away if they have not pre-registered).

    • In the event that someone who attended contracts Covid-19 we can respond responsibly to all who were in attendance and were possibly exposed.

  • Some seating closest to the doors will be reserved for families with young children.

  • Masks will be required for all in-person worship services as well as all meetings held at Locust Valley Chapel.

  • There will be no gathering or mingling in the church lobby. We ask that you go directly to the Worship Center upon entering and exit the building immediately following the service. Gathering will be allowed in the parking lot while practicing healthy distancing.

  • In order to provide a touchless service (where only the touch of God is experienced):

    • Doors will be propped open

    • Please, no handshakes or hugs

    • There will be no paper bulletins or pens

    • No offering plates will be passed (collection boxes on the back wall will be used)

    • “High-touch” areas will be sanitized between services (seating in worship center, bathrooms, door handles, etc...)

  • D3 Kids ministry will only be offered during the 9:00am service until further notice.

Thank you for your grace and understanding as we navigate the unique time we are in. . We are looking forward to seeing you in person.
